Project Overview

The Village of Mannville has outgrown its 2006 Land Use Bylaw. Legislative changes to the Municipal Government Act, the adoption of new statutory plans, and increasing interest in emerging housing types such as Ready-to-Move homes and micro dwellings have created a clear need for modernization. This Land Use Bylaw review is an opportunity not only to update regulations, but to strengthen the Village’s overall planning framework so that it remains clear, defensible, and practical for years to come.

    Frequently Asked Questions

    What is a LUB?

A Land Use Bylaw is a statutory document that is used to control the use and development of land and buildings within a municipality. Ut is a tool that is used to achieve orderly and economic development of land, divide the municipality into districts, prescribe and regulate uses within each district, and provide regulations for buildings within each district.

How does this document impact me?

The Land Use Bylaw is a “rule book” for development. Anyone who wants to develop their land needs to review the Land Use Bylaw to determine what regulations are applicable to their site.

Why should the LUB document be re-written

The current LUB was created in 2006. Though some changes to the document have been made over the years, much has changed in Mannville over the last 20 years. The LUB review is intended to evaluate the current regulations and determine what is working as intended, and what areas need to be adjusted and updated to reflect current development trends.

    How can i get involved?

Citizen engagement is an integral part of the process of developing the Land Use Bylaw. Engagement initiatives include project surveys, extended drop-in sessions, and pop-up events. Updates will be provided on each of these initiatives through this website and Facebook.
