Council Meetings<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The Village of Mannville Council meets regularly to discuss issues, set priorities, establish policy and make decisions based on information submitted by Village Administration, Community groups\/organizations and citizens. The information is most often provided to Council in the form of written reports and presentations. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Council Meetings are usually held on the 3rd Tuesday of each month and begin at 6:30 p.m. and are open to the public. Meetings take place in the Village of Mannville Council Chambers located at 5127 – 50 Street, Mannville AB T0B 2W0. Meetings vary in length depending on the number of items on the agenda, but average between two and three hours. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Council decisions are passed with a majority vote in favour. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

All Councillors present at a Council meeting shall vote on every motion unless they have identified a conflict of interest, which must be declared at the beginning of each meeting. Once the item of conflict arises, it is common practice for the Councillor(s) to leave the Council Chambers. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Regular Meetings<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Routinely held, these meetings allow Mayor and Council to vote on items such as bylaws, capital projects and expenditures, and budget, among other items. Council approves the Regular Council Meeting schedule at their Organizational Meeting that takes place in October of each calendar year. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Special Meetings<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

A Special Council Meeting is called with shorter notice and is not on the yearly meeting schedule. These meetings do not occur often and can only be held for the specific business in which the meeting was required. These meetings are held for time-sensitive items that cannot wait until the following regular Council meeting. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Council Meeting Dates<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Regular Council Meetings will be held on the 3rd Tuesday of each month at 6:30 P.M., in the Village of Mannville Council Chambers unless posted otherwise. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The next Regular Council Meeting is scheduled for June 18, 2024 at 6:30 P.M.<\/strong>
